These air fryer apples are on a whole new level – they’re delicious! This recipe is an elevated version of the classic baked apple dessert that everyone in the family will love! Trust me, this is about to be your new favorite treat.
Air Fryer Apples For The Win
Who doesn’t love the smell of apples wafting through their home? These baked apples are a great healthy option to have when you are craving a sweet treat but don’t want something full of sugar. In fact, there are only three ingredients in this recipe, and sugar is not one of them!
Stuffed with cinnamon, raisins, and topped off with a little bit of melted butter, these apples in the air fryer are so tender and mouthwatering! Want to take it up a notch? You can serve these apples with a scoop of low-fat vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to add a comforting dessert to your meal.
You can prepare these stuffed apples ahead of time and leave them ready in the refrigerator until it is time to add them to the air fryer. You can even put them into the air fryer while you are eating dinner so they are nice and warm when it’s time for dessert.
Don’t have an air fryer? No problem! Add the stuffed apples into a baking dish and place it into a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes or so until they are tender – just follow the instructions here for baked apples in the oven. If you have an instant pot, you can try this Instant Pot baked apple recipe or make this healthy apple crisp in the pressure cooker instead.
How To Make Air Fryer Baked Apples
This air fryer recipe is so easy to put together!
First, cut out holes on top of each apple with a paring knife and remove the core.
Then, stuff each apple with the raisins.
Top the apples off with cinnamon.
Finally, top each stuffed apple with butter.
Once they are stuffed and ready, place each apple into the air fryer basket (or you can do what I did on these pictures – put the cored apples in the air fryer basket first and stuff them directly in the basket). Tip – for easier cleanup, cut out a round piece of parchment paper to add to the bottom of the basket. This will help catch anything that bubbles over.
Cook the apples in the air fryer for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. When they are done, pull them out of the air fryer and let them cool down a bit before you take a bite! Of course, feel free to sprinkle them with a little extra cinnamon if you really want that extra punch of flavor before serving.
Substitutions
The best part about this recipe is that you can make it your own.
Apples: For this recipe, Honeycrisp or Fuji apples are recommended but you can use any apple you like.
Filling: If you don’t like raisins, you can always swap them out for another ingredient such as walnuts or granola to add another layer of crunch.
Want to make this recipe dairy-free? Use ghee or coconut oil instead of butter. You can even trade out the apple for a pear!

my family loves this dessert thanks for this recipe, Melanie
the flexibility in this apple recipe 👍 Using Honeycrisp or Fuji apples sounds perfect, but it’s great to know any apple works.
