Getting the oven going to bake potatoes seems like a drawn-out process, while turning on your air fryer is a super-easy thing to do!  Plus you can use your oven for something else (for example, baked sweet and spicy chicken or homemade banana bread) while the potatoes are baking in the air fryer :)

How To Bake Potatoes In The Air Fryer

Making baked potatoes in the air fryer is super easy!  First, rub the potatoes with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, put the potatoes in the air fryer and pierce each potato twice with a fork (to create vent holes for the steam so the potatoes don’t explode).

Then set the air fryer to 390F and the cooking time for 30-55 minutes, depending on the number of potatoes (see the cooking chart below).  No need to flip the potatoes or shake the basket – when the air fryer is done cooking, the potatoes will be perfectly cooked and ready for you to enjoy!

    1. Yes, smaller potatoes cook quicker and larger potatoes take more time. The cooking times I mentioned work for most potatoes, unless they are very unusual in size :) See the recipe notes for approximate cooking time adjustments.
