Okay, confession- I’m one of those people who would look for ways to utilize anything to its full potential, especially when it comes to kitchen appliances. And when I got my hands on my air fryer, I knew I had to make the best use out of it. And that’s when I thought of using it to whip up a quick breakfast.
These air fryer breakfast sausage links are the quickest way to enjoy a hearty breakfast, without having to spend all that time in the kitchen. Plus, I don’t need to tell you, but it is relatively healthy too, because you’ll be using little to no fat to whip it up. Cool right?
Before you get started, here’s answering some questions that might pop up in your mind along the way.
Can I Use Frozen Sausages?
Of course you can! I’m a big fan of choosing convenience when it comes to cooking, and if you have a stash of frozen sausages in your freezer, waiting to be put to use, there’s no better time than now to get them out!
Just remember that when you’re dumping frozen sausages in the air fryer and not thawing them beforehand, you’ll need 5 minutes of extra cooking time in there to make sure they’re cooked to perfection.
Do I Need to Flip Them While They’re In?
Ideally, it is best to flip them once during half of the cooking time to ensure that they have the perfect texture from the outside. However, if you’re in a rush and don’t want to get into the kitchen again until the sausages are ready, it doesn’t matter- the sausages will still be cooked through.
If you like your sausages to be dark and crispy, add in an extra minute or two of cooking time and you’re sorted.
How to Make the Most of it
Looking to make your air frying experience even more easier? Here are a few tips and tricks to get you started.
- To make the post-cooking clean up easier, you can lay down some parchment paper in the air fryer basket and poke some holes into it to allow the heat and air to circulate and cook the sausage from within. Then, all you gotta do after you’re done is throw the parchment paper away. Easy peasy!
- The parchment paper will also soak up all the excess grease and will prevent the air fryer from smoking.
- If you like your sausages with veggies on the side, you can air fry them at the same time too. Start by laying down the veggies (cut lengthwise and seasoned) on the parchment paper, and then placing the sausages on top of them. So easy and so convenient!
