The air fryer is the perfect appliance for cooking bite-sized chicken. The meat cooks up golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside. Plus it’s faster than cooking chicken in the oven. You can pop the chicken in the air fryer, prep some side dishes, and then toss the cooked chicken with teriyaki sauce and serve. It’s that easy!

How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Teriyaki

Prep your chicken breast by slicing into small pieces. Spray air fryer basket with nonstick spray so the teriyaki sauce will not stick to it during cooking.

Place chicken in a bowl and pour 2 Tablespoons of teriyaki sauce on top. Mix it all together.

Add chicken to the air fryer basket. Spread pieces out into a single layer, as much as possible. Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, pausing halfway through cooking time to mix the chicken up. This helps it to cook more evenly.

When cooking time is up, check that the chicken is done. You can check the temperature with a meat thermometer (should be at least 165 degrees) or slice a piece in half. You want to be sure there is no pink in the center. If needed, you can always cook the chicken for a few more minutes.

Once chicken is ready, remove from the air fryer with a spatula and place chicken in a clean bowl. Add 2 more Tablespoons of teriyaki sauce and toss to completely coat the chicken.
