What are Jamaican Beef Patties?
Often thought of as a grab and go convenience food, Jamaican beef patties are one of the most popular street foods in the Caribbean that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack. Their history goes all way back to the British colonialists who brought with them their Cornish pasties. Then over time, these pasties were enhanced by the African and Indian people who soon turned them into what we know today to be Jamaican beef patties!
How to Make Jamaican Beef Patties in the Air Fryer
This recipe could not be any easier! All you need is an air fryer and a package of frozen Jamaican beef patties, which you can find in the frozen food section of almost any grocery store.
To cook, just open the package and place the frozen patties flat in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap the patties. This will ensure more even cooking that will produce the most delicious flakey texture on the outside.
Now, put the basket into the air fryer and cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Be sure to cook the beef patties using the correct time and temperature for the best results.
When the patties are done, remove them from the air fryer and place them on your serving plate of choice.
And that’s it! Perfectly cooked yummy spicy beef enclosed in delicious pastry and ready to eat!
