Air Fryer Frozen Texas Toast

Did you know that Texas is famous for its toast? This thickly sliced bread is hot, buttered and sometimes covered in cheese and garlic!

The history behind Texas Toast is from a BBQ chain in Texas called the Pig Stand. Local legend says that it was invented as a means to impress customers by using extra thick sliced bread. However, when the cook realized it didn’t fit in the toaster, he instead slathered on some butter and toasted it using the griddle. It became a huge hit!

You can use it as a side and to help absorb any remaining liquids or bites of food from your plate.

Cooking with the air fryer is so much easier than the oven! Plus the texture will be perfect when done. Golden brown and crispy on the outside while soft and tender inside.

You can serve this as a side for dinner or just eat a slice as a quick snack when you’re on the go!

I used the New York Bakery brand of Texas Toast with cheese and garlic, but you can use any brand you find at your local store.

How to Cook Air Fryer Frozen Texas Toast

You’ll have this side of toast ready in no time by following my instructions below!

First take your air fryer out and take out a few slices of the frozen toast. There is no need to defrost, just use as is!

Place the toast cheese side up if yours has cheese on it. Make sure not to overlap the toast either. I used 3 slices as that is how many fit in my air fryer.
