How To Make Air Fryer Kale Chips
Start with prepped kale leaves. Wash kale and dry with a paper towel. Cut off stems and roughly chop kale leaves.
Drizzle on olive oil and sprinkle on seasoning. Toss the kale to coat in toppings.
Add kale to air fryer basket. Cook at 370 degrees for 5 minutes.
Remove cooked kale from air fryer basket with a spatula and add to serving bowl.
Cooking Tips
- Be sure to remove kale stems as they do not crisp up
- Olive oil is completely optional. It does add flavor and crunch.
- If kale is not crispy after cooking time, place basket back in air fryer and cook for another 2-3 minutes
How Do You Keep Leftover Kale Chips Crunchy?
Be sure to let them cool completely. Then store them in an air-tight container for 2-3 days. Also, if you add a little bit of dried rice to the container, it will help to absorb any moisture and keep the chips crisp.
Does Making Kale Chips Destroy the Nutrients?
Thankfully, no. Cooked any method, kale chips retain all their nutrients in a densely-packed, delicious chip. This makes them an ideal snack for health-conscious eaters.
Should You Wash Kale in Vinegar?
No need to wash kale leaves in anything specific, like vinegar. Just regular water will clean a bunch of kale and get it ready for cooking.

Hi,
Love receiving your emails regarding air fryer recipes. But the kale chips one? I tried and thank God I stayed in the kitchen to watch over while I did other preps. My airfryer was smoking at one point so I got scared, and shut it off completely! Kale ended up the top where the heating and fan element is, so for my type of airfryer, a no go! Ended up finishing it in the oven! I have a Ninja Airfryer XL.

I had some leftover kale and decided to try this recipe. The chips were crispy and had just the right amount of seasoning. I’ll make these again 👌 and maybe try adding some different spices next time!
So glad I tried these! I followed the recipe exactly and my kale chips were delicious.
