This is a great dinner recipe that will help teach you how to cook salmon fillets in the air fryer. The best part about this dish is that the cooking times are shorter than other methods, so it’s less time standing over the stove tending to your meal- Great for a busy weeknight!
Air Fryer Salmon Fillets
Salmon is one of my favorite proteins to cook up. Not only is it super versatile, but it’s packed full of omega-3s, and my family loves it. It’s a win all around!
Salmon is a delicious fish that can be cooked in many ways. Different cooking techniques and types of seasoning add to the salmon fillets, depending on your preferences.
In the past, I’ve baked a salmon fillet at a low temperature in the oven before, and it was superb. However, it does take a long time. Totally worth it, but I just don’t always have the time to wait for it.
I’ve found that I love cooking salmon fillets in the air fryer because it’s so quick and easy, but you can also make various dishes with them. It doesn’t matter whether I want to cook a whole fish or just one filet; either way is great!
Different Seasonings To Use On Salmon
You can use any seasonings on these pieces of fish. For this recipe, I went with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
If you are looking for other flavors, here are a few seasoning ideas:
- Everything But The Bagel– I love this seasoning on EVERYTHING, and salon fillets are no different.
- Garlic Mayo And Cheese- I know this one sounds a bit weird, but you must give it a try. It’s really yummy!
- Lemon Butter- A classic! All you need is salt, pepper, lemon juice, and salty butter.
- Honey Sesame Soy- I love to season salmon using Asian flavors, and this one is no different. It has notes of sweet umami flavor. Delicious!
Whichever way you decide to season the salmon, it will turn out amazing in the air fryer.
How To Air Fry Salmon Fillets
Air-fried salmon is so tender and juicy. Once you try cooking salmon in the air fryer, it’ll become your go-to!
To start, spray the air fryer basket with your preferred non-stick cooking spray.
Rub the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (or whatever seasoning you prefer).
Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer (skin side down) in a single layer.
Cook the salmon fillets in the air fryer at 400F for about 10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the salmon is at least 145F.
Serve and enjoy!
Cooking Tips:
- For thin fillets, the cooking time is 8 minutes.
- If you have frozen salmon, you can cook it in the air fryer without defrosting it. Check it out!
What To Serve With Air-Fried Salmon Fillets
Salmon pretty much goes with anything!
Depending on how I season it, I like to pair the salmon fillets with cilantro lime rice or baby potatoes with roasted broccoli.
If I am keeping it low carb, I will serve it with roasted cauliflower and mushrooms.

Best salmon recipe in the air fryer. Had no garlic powder so I used a clove of garlic minced with the other spices. Ten minutes at 400 in the fryer and I had the best lunch. Thanks for all your recipes.
