These air fryer roasted snow peas are so easy to make in the air fryer and are perfect for an afternoon snack. Not to mention it’s low carb and keto-friendly! These roasted snow peas would make a great addition to any salad, stir fry or to serve as a side with a dip.
Air Fryer Roasted Snow Peas
Did you know that snow peas are full of protein and high fiber? So healthy and yummy! I am often sauteing snow peas with garlic and sesame seeds when I want to make a quick veggie side dish, so I figured – why not try it in the air fryer?
Since I have made snow peas in the instant pot, I was really curious about how the snow peas would turn out in the air fryer… I was not disappointed! They’re so yummy! If you are on the market for an air fryer, click here for a model I recommend.
They have this incredible crunch to them- it made me feel almost like I was eating chips. But, just a healthier, green kind ;)
How To Trim Snow Peas Before Cooking
While the peas may seem ready to cook, you may want to trim and clean up the snow peas before using. It’s a matter of personal preference – I’m personally ok with eating them as is and I’m too lazy to do extra prep :) However many people don’t like the “strings” in the snow peas, so here’s how to trim them:
- Place the snow peas in a bowl or colander and give them a good rinse with some water – click here for my favorite red colander – it makes me happy every time I use it :)
- Use your knife to trim off the ends.
- Then, starting at one end of the pea, slowly peel the string back to finish cleaning off the snow pea.
Now, it’s time to cook them!
How To Make Air Fryer Snow Peas
After you trim and clean up the snow peas, place them all in a bowl.
Toss the peas with some olive oil, salt, and pepper. If you want to, you can add your favorite seasonings instead. Some good options are sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder.
Place the snow peas in the air fryer basket and cook in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 7 minutes.
Make sure to pull the basket out halfway through the cooking time and give it a shake before you continue to let it cook.
What To Serve With Roasted Snow Peas
I’m not going to lie- these air fried snow peas sometimes don’t make it to whatever I originally planned to serve them with. They’re just so delicious and crispy when they come straight out of the air fryer!
Nevertheless, if I don’t eat them all in one sitting, I love to serve these roasted snow peas with an air fried cornish hen and baked potato on the side. Wow, what a combo!
I also like to make some baked shrimp with garlic and parmesan on top of some linguini and add these crispy ‘fried’ snow peas.
If you are looking for a low carb option, you can add these peas to a tossed salad for a bit of a crunch element instead of adding croutons.
