This Air Fryer Swai Fish cooks up tender and delicious every time! It’s the perfect meal for an easy, healthy dinner in minutes.
Swai Fish in the Air Fryer
The air fryer is fabulous for cooking up fish! It’s faster than the oven, with no added oil or sauces. Plus you have the option of cooking fresh or frozen fish, whichever you have on hand. The air fryer cooks frozen fish perfectly, with no need to thaw first. If you are cooking fresh fish, you can adjust the recipe and reduce the cooking time by 5 minutes.
This recipe calls for salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but you can use any seasonings you love on fish. You can also use different seasonings to change up the flavor of the dish. A few ideas to try: red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, paprika, or Old Bay seasoning. You can also change up the meal by serving the fish with a sauce drizzled on top or spooned on the side. We love white fish with lemon butter sauce, mustard sauce, or just a simple olive oil and herb dressing. Yum!

How To Make Air Fryer Swai Fish
First prep the air fryer basket. Spray the bottom with nonstick cooking spray. If you are using frozen fish fillets (as seen in this recipe) you will add the seasonings after the fish has cooked a bit and thawed.
Add Swai fish to air fryer basket and cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Halfway through cooking time, pull out basket and season fish with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Carefully flip fish over using spatula and season the other side.
Replace basket in air fryer and finish cooking. Generally, a frozen Swai fish fillet will take 10 minutes to cook in the air fryer, but the thickness of the fillet can require a longer cooking time. If you are unsure, check the internal temperature (should be at least 145 degrees) and cook for another 2-3 minutes if necessary.
Once fish is done cooking, remove from basket with a spatula and place on serving plate.
Cooking Tips
- You can use fresh or frozen fish. If using fresh, season before heating in air fryer and reduce cooking time by 5 minutes
- Nonstick cooking spray prevents the fish from sticking to the air fryer basket. You can also brush the bottom of the basket with cooking oil.
- Don’t worry if the fish doesn’t fit perfectly in the air fryer basket at first, the fillet will shrink a bit as it cooks
What To Serve With Air Fryer Swai Fish
Add a boost of flavor to this dish with a homemade sauce. We love Greek Tzatziki Cucumber Yogurt Sauce, Basil Pesto Sauce, and Creamy Garlic Yogurt Dill Sauce on fish.
You can serve this fish with an easy side dish (also made in the air fryer!) for a complete meal. Try Air Fryer Frozen Broccoli, Air Fryer Frozen Cauliflower Rice, or Roasted Sweet Potatoes And Apples In Air Fryer.
