This cinnamon applesauce cake uses very simple everyday ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, butter, brown sugar, eggs and applesauce. There is a good chance you already have everything you need in your pantry :)

Making this amazing applesauce cake is really easy! All you need to do is mix the ingredients in one bowl, pour the batter into a Bundt pan and bake! This recipe is perfect for beginner bakers, there is really no way to mess it up! This applesauce cake always comes out so beautiful and tastes so good!
To decorate this applesauce bundt cake, simply sprinkle it with powdered sugar. No frosting needed – powdered sugar makes this cake look and taste complete!
Below is the picture of how the cake looks before it’s inverted. It’s hard to believe it’s the same cake :) Whatever you see on top becomes the bottom of the cake when it’s flipped over, and the top will be smooth and beautiful and sprinkled with powdered sugar!
This applesauce cake is baked in a full-size Bundt pan (10 to 12 cup capacity). If you want to make a small cake, you can halve the ingredients and bake it in a small Bundt pan (5 to 6 cup capacity). If you are using a half-recipe and a small pan, reduce the baking time to 45 minutes. Bundt cakes are so pretty and make great homemade food gifts!
If you don’t have a Bundt pan, you can also bake it in a regular rectangular 9×13 inch pan. Just bake it until the toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Easy Applesauce Bundt Cake
Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 sticks butter softened
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups unsweetened applesauce
- Powdered sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray a non-stick regular-size (10 or 12 cup) Bundt pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
- Put the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl and mix with a mixer until well combined. Add the eggs and mix until combined.
- Add 1 cup of flour, baking powder and cinnamon and mix until combined. Add 1 cup of applesauce and mix until combined. Add the remaining 1 3/4 cup of flour and mix until combined. Add the remaining 1 cup of applesauce and mix until combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a Bundt pan. Put it in the oven and bake for 1 hour.
- Let the applesauce cake cool completely inside the Bundt pan, then invert it onto a plate.
- Sprinkle the applesauce cake with powdered sugar.
I just made this today for our family. It was a BIG hit! Moist, sweet (but not excessively so), and delicious when warm. I love a cake I can serve without a need for icing! It’s great for trips to the lake, also!
I have a recipe like this but for a 9 x 13 inch pan so the ingredients are slightly less. I sometimes mix up the dry ingredients together and store it in a baggie so that when I want a cake, I just have to add in the wet ingredients. It’s even better if you add about 3/4 cup of raisins to it.
I have made this using my homemade applesauce. Delicious! Then, by substituting 1 can of pumpkin puree for the applesauce and pumpkin spice for the cinnamon, it makes a beautiful pumpkin Bundt cake. Sometimes I dust with powdered sugar or I make a lemon glaze. Thank you for such an easy and versatile recipe!

Easy, excellent recipe! I made this cake exactly as directed for Thanksgiving breakfast. It was moist and delicious. I used a nordicware wreath pan, it was perfect.

Yes, to be safe it’s a good idea to spray the pan with the non-stick cooking spray.

I made this today to use up cinnamon applesauce, but made it in loaf pans. It was very moist and slightly dense.
Rather than sprinkling powdered sugar on top, I added a praline glaze and sprinkled pecans on top.

I made this and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone that had it felt the same.I did add a little extra cinnamon and felt like it needed a little more flour, so I added a few spoonfuls, maybe my applesauce was too runny. For baking I always use the scoop and level method unless
it says otherwise.

Yum! I had leftover applesauce in the fridge and a new bundt pan, and this fit the bill. I was surprised to see it didn’t call for a bit of salt in the batter, so I added a small sprinkle just to be safe. It came out great. I didn’t get around to adding the powdered sugar on top because we couldn’t wait for it to cool completely before digging in.

Like another reviewer, I had leftover applesauce to use up and a new bundt pan, lol! This recipe was great – our cake turned out very nicely. I plan on making this anytime I have leftover applesauce, or just want a simple and delicious dessert to share with family that I can whip up quickly. First time making it and yes it’s moist and to hold up so well considering that two cups of apple sauce😊😮. It has this good outer layer with the batter being really moist, slight akin to the consistency of custard, but WOW ❤️❤️. I’ll make again. Thx!

I made this cake for dinner tonight and it was delish. I did add diced apple coated in a little brown sugar in the middle. The cake didn’t really need it but it was good. The recipe was very easy to follow.
