How To Make Bisquick Cheddar Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Melt butter in a large microwave-safe mixing bowl. Add shredded cheddar cheese, baking mix, milk, and garlic powder to bowl. Stir to combine ingredients into a batter.
Use a tablespoon to drop biscuit dough balls (about golfball-sized) onto parchment paper. This recipe makes about 8 biscuits.
Bake biscuits for 15 minutes, then allow to cool for 10 minutes. The biscuits will have the perfect texture.
Cooking Tips
- It’s helpful to melt the butter in the mixing bowl so you have one less dish to clean
- Be sure to line the baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up
- The batter can be very sticky. Once biscuits are laid out on parchment paper, you may want to shape them into smoother balls using your hands or a spoon
Why Are My Bisquick Biscuits Hard?
Biscuits made with a baking mix can become hard from over-mixing or not enough liquid in the batter. Add milk a Tablespoon at a time for desired consistency and mix ingredients until they are just combined.
Can You Refrigerate Cheddar Biscuits?
Yes. If it’s short-term storage (2-3 days), you can store them in a sealed container on the countertop in your kitchen. For longer storage, place in fridge for 4-5 days or the freezer for 1-2 months.
What Can I Substitute For Bisquick Baking Mix?
If you wish to make biscuits and do not have Bisquick on hand, you can use these ingredients instead:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon shortening, olive oil, or melted butter
Combine these items in a bowl and use as a cup of Bisquick in baking recipes.
