This Carrot Soufflé makes an absolutely delightful side dish or healthy dessert. With just a few ingredients, you can make a smooth and sweet soufflé that will be a big hit.
Easy Carrot Souffle
To make this yummy soufflé, just blend the ingredients in a food processor and bake. You can also use a potato masher. If desired, substitute apple sauce for the butter to make it healthier. Or add complimentary seasonings like cinnamon and nutmeg to bring out the subtle sweetness of this dish.

How To Make Carrot Soufflé
Preheat the oven and prepare your carrots. You will be using peeled carrots or baby carrots. They need to be softened before they can go in the food processor.
You can microwave or boil the carrots to soften them. To microwave them, add carrots to a microwave-safe bowl and pour in 1/4 of a cup of water. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate and heat for 6 minutes.
After the cooking time is up, carefully remove the top plate with oven mitts or a dish towel and check the carrots. They should easily mash with a fork. If not, replace plate and cook for another minute or two.
Once carrots are softened, use a spoon to move them from the bowl to the food processor. Add butter, eggs, and vanilla on top. Puree for about 10 seconds, just to mix everything up a bit.
Next add flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Puree until fully blended and smooth. Pour mixture into 2 qt baking dish that’s been prepped with butter or nonstick spray.
Bake for 45 minutes, then check doneness by sticking a toothpick in the center of the dish. If the toothpick comes out clean, then soufflé is done.
If soufflé is not cooked through, heat for another 5-10 minutes.
Remove soufflé from oven and serve.
Cooking Tips
- Microwaves operate differently. You might need to adjust the time for softening the carrots dependent on how fast your microwave heats them up.
- When adding the carrots to the food processor, be sure to leave the excess water in the bowl.
- Any shape baking pan can be used for this recipe, as long as it can hold 2 qts

- 1 stick butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt

- Prep a 2 Qt baking dish with nonstick spray or butter, set aside.
