This no egg Caesar salad dressing is safe to eat for children, pregnant women or anyone who is squeamish about raw eggs!
If you want to make a Caesar salad dressing from scratch but would rather not use raw eggs, look no further. Even though I’m a pretty adventurous eater that loves sushi and will eat weird foods like head cheese and sprats, for some reason I feel squeamish about eating raw eggs. This recipe makes authentic tasting Caesar dressing without raw eggs in its ingredients list! This dressing makes a Caesar salad that rivals the one from the finest restaurants!
Instead of using raw eggs, this recipe uses mayonnaise. Since the mayo is made with raw eggs and oil, it just saves you a step so you don’t have to mix raw eggs and oil yourself when making a Caesar dressing. Commercial mayo is made with pasteurized eggs that are safe to eat!
This recipe uses the anchovy paste that is usually found near the canned tuna section in most supermarkets. If you cannot find it, ask someone who works in the store and they’ll help you find it. Don’t worry, the anchovy paste won’t make the Caesar salad taste and smell like anchovies :) If desired, you can omit the anchovy paste, but this ingredient really gives the Caesar dressing its authentic taste and depth of flavor.
