      1. Hi Melanie,
Can you tell me if itโ€™s possible to make the batter several hours ahead and refrigerated until baking? Maybe, leave out a little bit of time before actual baking? Not sure if this will work or not?
        Thanks, Gina

          1. Thank you. How long do you suggest, I leave it sit out before baking? Iโ€™m a little worried that the colder temp will require time out to reach a little warmer batter or a little more time in the oven?
Thank you, again. Canโ€™t wait to make it this weekend.

  1. Thatโ€™s not really chocolate lava cake. No offense, but real chocolate lava cake has a small ball of frozen chocolate ganache in the center so that it melts into a warm center. But I like your recipe because itโ€™s quick and easy.4/5 stars

  2. Was trying to find an easy way for my 93 year old mother-in-law to make 16 lava cakes for her friends (!!). This recipe is a great solution. Poured the batter into cupcake papers in the muffin tins. She simply lifted the cakes out by the paper, peeled and inverted on plate. Mini lava cakes, but just right. Thank you!

Thank you Melanie! I made these for my son and husbandโ€™s birthday dinner last night. They were oh so easy and a big hit. I served them with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. I have a picture to attach, but itโ€™s not allowing me to attach it with my comment ?.
Thank you for sharing this recipe, it is a keeper.

Great! Made 12 muffin tin size lava cakes. Baked exactly 9 minutes, rest 3 minutes, then turn out onto a cookie sheet, eat immediately.

I realized right before putting these in the oven that I had left my muffin tin at a friends house- was nervous about how to cook them but I poured the batter into a small stone casserole dish and added 4-5 extra minutes to the time and it still turned out wonderful!! Excited to try them in muffin tins sometime but this recipe is for sure a keeper.
