Instant Pot Cubed Sweet Potatoes
This sweet potatoes recipe is so yummy. I’ve made Instant Pot baked sweet potatoes in the past but I was curious to see if I could cook up some cubed ones as well… They turned out amazing!
Using this method of cooking makes it easy and really versatile too. All you have to do is chop the sweet potatoes into even cubes, add them into the Instant Pot with some water and let the pressure cooker do its magic. These sweet potatoes come out perfectly steamed every single time. They are so mouthwatering!
How To Cook Cubed Sweet Potatoes In The Instant Pot
Here’s how to steam perfect sweet potatoes in the Instant Pot. All the exact ingredients and steps are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post!
The first step is to cut your sweet potatoes into cubes. Make sure they are all the same size. If you cut some really large and others really tiny, the large ones won’t be as soft and the tiny bits will be mush.
Next, add the water and the sweet potato cubes into your Instant Pot. It’s very important that you use the correct amount of water and sweet potatoes. If it doesn’t have enough water in it, your food might burn.
After everything is inside the Instant Pot, close the slide and turn the valve to the sealing position. Press the “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” button and set the timer to 3 minutes for tender sweet potatoes or 2 minutes if you like them more firm.
When the Instant Pot is finished cooking, quick-release (QR) the steam. After that is completely finished, remove the lid and drain the sweet potatoes.
Finally, place the cooked sweet potatoes in your favorite serving dish and add your favorite seasonings on top. I’ll share some of my favorite ideas below!
Seasonings To Try With Sweet Potatoes
What are your favorite seasonings to use on sweet potatoes? I like to keep things simple and use butter and cinnamon.
But, if that’s not what you like, here are some more seasonings you can try on your steamed sweet potatoes:
- Maple Syrup
- Chili Spice
- Garlic Powder
- Parmesan Cheese
- Sea Salt
What To Serve With Cubed Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes go well with so many different things.
I love adding in some cubed sweet potatoes in my breakfast bowl with some scrambled eggs and green onions, air-fried bacon, and sliced avocado!
My kids love to eat them with air-fried breaded chicken tenders and cheese quesadillas.
For a healthy lunch or dinner, I’ll serve these veggies with some chicken breasts and bacon-wrapped asparagus. Yum!
