Instant Pot hard boiled eggs are truly revolutionary! They are so easy to peel, you won’t believe it! Once you try cooking hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot, you’ll never make them any other way!
I never thought I would need a special appliance to boil eggs – after all, it takes about 15 minutes to make perfect hard-boiled eggs in a pot of water on the stove. However, once I tried boiling eggs in my Instant Pot I was totally hooked!
So what are the advantages of cooking eggs in the Instant Pot versus in a pot of boiling water on the stove? There are two main advantages to Instant Pot hard boiled eggs: (1) no need to “babysit” the Instant Pot (2) Instant Pot boiled eggs are easy to peel!
If you are boiling eggs in a regular pot on a stove, you cannot leave it unattended. If you are cooking eggs in the Instant Pot, you can just leave them there – once the cooking time is up, the Instant Pot will automatically depressurize and the eggs will just sit there waiting for you.
Not having to watch the pot is so freeing!
My favorite thing about Instant Pot hard boiled eggs is the fact that they are always easy to peel. I never had problems peeling Instant Pot boiled eggs!
There must be something about the pressure in the Instant Pot affecting the shells so they separate from the eggs easily!
My method of cooking eggs in the Instant Pot is different from other directions you’ll find on the Internet. While many websites recommend the 5-5-5 method (5 minutes on High Pressure, 5 minutes Natural Release, 5 minutes ice water) or 6-6-6 method (same things but 6 minutes each), my method is even simpler.
I cook the eggs for 7 minutes on High pressure, then quick release (QR) the steam and put the eggs in the ice water for 3 minutes. They turn out perfectly cooked and super easy to peel!
How To Boil Eggs In The Instant Pot
Making hard-boiled eggs in the Instant Pot is really easy! Just pour 1 cup of cold tap water in the Instant Pot and gently lower as many eggs as you want in the pot. Select the “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” options and set the cooking time for 7 minutes on high pressure. When the eggs are done cooking, do the quick release (QR) of the steam, then transfer the eggs to a bowl of cold water with ice. Perfect hard-boiled eggs are done and ready to be peeled!

very easy & tasty
Just purchased an Instant Pot and this is the 1st thing I cooked in it. Like others, I have boiled eggs and tried all kinds of things so they would peel easily, with not much luck.
I followed this recipe exactly and the eggs came out perfect! The shells come off in 2 or 3 easy pieces- not 20 or 30 tiny pieces like before.
