Never gave it a thought, what a great idea, cause I eat lots of tomato sauces on my salad, fresh vegetables, besides my spaghetti noodles.. Thanks!
Can you freeze this sauce?
Yes, it freezes great! Just pour tomato sauce in ziploc bags, squeeze the air out, zip and freeze.
Just picked remainder of cheery tomatoes and tried your recipe. Delicious and easy!…..Question-
I get the skin like spikes even after blending smooth. Do you strain the sauce or recommend something? Thanks Melanie!
I don’t strain the sauce and pieces of skin don’t bother me. I think it depends on the variety of tomato, some have tougher skins then others. You can try doubling the pressure cooking time, I think it could soften the skins.
How much water and time do I put if I have almost a whole pot of cherry tomatoes to do?
1 cup of water, same cooking time
So you CAN use another layer (or 2 or 3) to the instant pot and cook under pressure with no problem?? I’d love to make a larger quantity altogether.
Yes, you can use as many tomatoes as you like, as long as they are below “Max Fill” line of the Instant Pot.
Can you can your cherry tomato instant pot sauce?
Yes!
Love the spaghetti sauce!!! do you water bath or pressure can? If pressure can how long and what pressure

I haven’t tried canning it myself (I never can anything so I don’t know how) but people messaged me before that they canned it. I have frozen it before in ziploc bags.
A few times a year someone brings me a case or two of cherry tomatoes. Using your recipe, I make lots of Italian Tomato Sauce and freeze it. Later on, I have great-tasting homemade pizza or pasta sauce any time I want it. I’m so glad to have found your recipe! Thank you for sharing it.
Great way to use tomatoes from our garden
Homemade tomato sauce is so much better than canned!
