  1. Never gave it a thought, what a great idea, cause I eat lots of tomato sauces on my salad, fresh vegetables, besides my spaghetti noodles.. Thanks!

  2. Just picked remainder of cheery tomatoes and tried your recipe. Delicious and easy!…..Question-
I get the skin like spikes even after blending smooth. Do you strain the sauce or recommend something? Thanks Melanie!

    1. I don’t strain the sauce and pieces of skin don’t bother me. I think it depends on the variety of tomato, some have tougher skins then others. You can try doubling the pressure cooking time, I think it could soften the skins.

So you CAN use another layer (or 2 or 3) to the instant pot and cook under pressure with no problem?? I’d love to make a larger quantity altogether.

      1. I haven’t tried canning it myself (I never can anything so I don’t know how) but people messaged me before that they canned it. I have frozen it before in ziploc bags.

A few times a year someone brings me a case or two of cherry tomatoes. Using your recipe, I make lots of Italian Tomato Sauce and freeze it. Later on, I have great-tasting homemade pizza or pasta sauce any time I want it. I’m so glad to have found your recipe! Thank you for sharing it.
