Cooking Tips

  • A trivet is an instant pot accessory. It’s a rack made of stainless steel that holds the food above the liquid while the instant pot is running. The purpose is to keep the cooking food out of the liquid, but still allow it to absorb the moisture. This results in food that’s moist but not saturated. Using a trivet is totally optional. If you do not have one, you can just cook the meatballs directly in the water.
  • No need to thaw out the meatballs. The instant pot cooks them straight from frozen
  • You can add sauce to the instant pot, but some models will have a “burn” notification if you cook sauce in them. It might work better to cook the meatballs, remove them from the instant pot, and then serve them with sauce.
