We love this recipe for hot dogs cooked in a flash! Just a few seconds in the microwave for a perfectly warmed hot dog and bun. You can add fresh cut fruit, chips, and maybe some vegetables and dip to make a complete meal that comes together in no time. What a winner!
You can make these hot dogs as simple or gourmet as you prefer. Keep it simple with ketchup and mustard (or even plain!). Or grill up some onions and pepper for a burst of flavor. How To Make Microwave Hot Dogs
First wrap the hot dog(s) in a paper towel.
Place in microwave and heat for 1 minute or until hot dog is warmed through. Remove hot dog from microwave.
If you’d also like a warmed bun, place it on a plate and heat in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Remove bun from microwave and place hot dog in bun. Add any toppings you love on hot dogs.
Cooking Tips
- Using a paper towel is optional, but it does help to steam the hot dog. If you choose not to use a paper towel, just place the hot dog(s) on a microwave-safe plate
- You can absolutely cooked multiple hot dogs in the microwave, just add about 10-20 seconds of cook time
- Try different toppings for these easy hot dogs: shredded cheese, chili, diced onions, relish, and sliced tomatoes, just to name a few
Do You Need Water To Microwave Hot Dogs?
Not necessarily. You can certainly heat up hot dogs by placing them in a microwave-safe bowl of water and heating it in the microwave. But you can also heat up hot dogs by rolling them in a paper towel and steaming in the microwave. Or just lay the hot dog on a microwave-safe plate and heat it up. It’s totally up to you!
