Can You Cook Pears When They Are Hard?

Yes. Cooking hard pears will soften them, but they may still be bland. To counter this, add sweeteners and seasonings like honey and butter to boost the flavor of the pears.

Does Microwaving Pears Make Them Sweeter?

Yes! Heat increases the sugar content of fruit, which means that microwaved pears are slightly sweeter than fresh ones. This makes them the perfect healthy addition to desserts and snacks. You can increase the sweetness even more by sprinkling the pears with cinnamon and sugar before microwaving. Seasonings enhance the natural sweetness of the fruit.
