True to its name, Oceana Coastal Kitchen is an ocean-front restaurant, located on the beautiful Pacific Beach in San Diego, California. Located right on the beach with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Oceana’s view is unbeatable!
Oceana Coastal Kitchen is located inside a beautiful Catamaran Resort And Spa, and it has an amazing seafood bar as well as sushi! If you’d rather have something other that seafood, there are also lots of choices – at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, there is truly something for everyone! The meal at Oceana starts with the complimetary bread basket. Looks at those amazing scones!
These scones were so good – spit and butterred, just the way I like it!
We ate at Oceana restaurant while vacationing in San Diego, and vacation fun starts with awesome drinks! Let’s begin with the Barrel Aged Rum Mohito – house barrel-aged rum made with captain morgan white rum, grand marnier, dry vermouth, grenadine fresh muddled mint, lime, sugar and soda water. According to my husband, this mojito was one of the best mojitos he’s ever had!
And here’s the Mexican Sangria – tequila carralejo, triple sec, cabenet sauvignon, house-made sweet & sour and a splash of pineapple juice – it was amazing!
Here’s the first appetizer – Shrimp Ceviche from the cold bar. This ceviche has lime marinade, cherry tomatoes and pineapple salsa – so delicious!
The ceviche was served with a basket of chips – plenty of chips to scoop the yummy ceviche!
Our next appetizer was Clams & Mussels With Peppers – steamed pacific mussels, clams, roasted peppers, crostini.
My entree was San Diego Cioppino – scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, bass, king crab, passilla chili broth, avocado, pickled onions and cilantro. This dish was truly amazing! If you go to Oceana, I highly recommend you get this Cioppino – I really really really enjoyed it!
If you’ve had enough seafood for now, there is plenty of non-seafood options :) My husband got the Filet Mignon – yum! This steak was perfectly prepared, tender and juicy, and was served with au gratin potatoes, cumin roasted carrots, white raisins and red wine sauce with blue cheese butter. Yes, it tastes just as good as it sounds!
If you have small children who won’t appreciate the fine seafood and steak choices, Oceana has the kids menu with kid-friendly selections such as cheeseburger and fries, PB&J, breaded chicken tenders, fish sticks, tuna salad and pasta shells.
Here’s the tuna sandwich from the Oceana Coastal Kitchen kids menu:
Here are the pasta shells from the kids menu (without the tomato sauce, to please our pickiest little eater)!
And here are the breaded chicken tenders with fries from the kid’s menu:
The items on the Oceana kids menu come with ice cream – that surely makes kids happy!
Here’s the strawberry ice cream:
And here’s the chocolate ice cream:
To finish off this amazing meal, we got the Warm Skillet Brownie that’s baked to order and served with vanilla ice cream – what an awesome ending to this wonderful dinner!
Oceana restaurant is located inside the Catamaran Resort at 3999 Mission Boulevard San Diego CA 92109, and their phone number is 858.488.1081 . Everything about this restaurant is awesome – wonderful food, perfect oceanfront setting, great for families – highly recommended!
