Real Urban BBQ Restaurant Review – Highland Park, Chicago Suburbs

I recently discovered Real Urban Barbecue restaurant while driving around Downtown Highland Park during the lunch hour.  My husband and I had lunch at Real Urban BBQ and really liked it! Real Urban Barbecue has really tasty BBQ food, so we’ll definitely come back!

A great thing about Real Urban BBQ restaurant is that is has plenty of outside seating.  That’s actually the reason why we went there in the first place – it was a beautiful summer day outside, and we wanted to each lunch outdoors.

Below is the photo of Real Urban BBQ specials sign – the specials of that day were tilapia fish tacos topped with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and cajun ranch ($8), pork loin sandwich with fried onions, bologna sandwich topped with sole slaw ($6):

An interesting thing about Real Urban BBQ is that they serve their ice tea and lemonade in glass mason jars.  If you bring the mason jar back when you eat there next time, you’ll get a free drink!

Here’s the photo of the super-yummy smoked BBQ turkey sandwich from Real Urban BBQ in Highland Park.  The side dish is the mashed potatoes that have marshmallows mixed into them.

And here’s Real Urban BBQ’s cobb salad.  I asked to hold the bacon and ranch on the side.  The meat in the cobb salad is BBQ chicken.  I mixed the salad together, and it was a super tasty cobb!
