How To Cook Pears on Stove

First prep your pears. Wash them and peel them (if that’s your preference). Cut them into even slices.

Heat a skillet to high and add oil. Arrange pears in skillet. Wait until oil starts sizzling (about 1 minute).

Once skillet is hot, stir up the pears and reduce the heat to medium-high. Cook for about 7 minutes, stirring the pears every minute. The pears are cooked through when they are soft and tender.

Why Should You Not Refrigerate Pears?

You can refrigerate them if you prefer to eat them cold. However, they are best left out in a room temperature area as cold air can compromise the crisp texture.

Should Pears Be Peeled Before Eating?

The peel of a pear is not only edible, it is chock full of nutrients. So it is suggested to eat the peel of a pear. However, if you prefer the texture without the peel, you can certainly remove it before eating or cooking a pear.
