How To Make Shrimp And Broccoli Stir Fry

You can use frozen (thawed) cooked shrimp and broccoli or raw ingredients in this recipe. For this version, we are using pre-cooked shrimp and raw broccoli. So we’ll cook the broccoli in the skillet for longer.

Turn the heat to high on the skillet. Add a drizzle of olive oil (or any cooking oil) and top with the broccoli florets. Wait until the oil starts sizzling to toss the broccoli.

Once the oil is hot, turn the heat down to medium high and mix up the broccoli with a spatula. Cook broccoli for 10 minutes, stirring every minute, or until it’s tender to your liking.

Move cooked broccoli to plate so you can heat up the shrimp.

Add oil to pan once again. Drop shrimp into skillet to heat through. (If shrimp is raw, cook for 3-5 minutes).

While shrimp is heating up, let’s mix up the sauce. In a liquid measuring cup, add water (or chicken or vegetable stock), soy sauce (regular or low sodium), sriracha (optional-to taste), and cornstarch. Whisk together with a fork. Add garlic and mix again.

Add broccoli back into skillet and pour in sauce. Turn heat to high and wait for sauce to boil. Allow sauce to thicken for 2 minutes. Then mix shrimp and broccoli with sauce.

Once ingredients have been combined into a stir fry, turn off heat and move food from skillet to a serving dish.
