Made with just 2 simple store-bought ingredients, this delicious Tex-Mex inspired Sour Cream and Salsa Dip takes just 3 minutes to make! It’s the ultimate quick and easy creamy chip dip or accompaniment to sliced fresh veggies!
Sour Cream And Salsa Dip
Did you know that you can whip together creamy salsa dip faster than you can buy it premade at the store!?! This simple sour cream and salsa dip recipe is going to show you how easy it is to take 2 store-bought products and turn them into a dip ready for chips or veggies.
All you need is some sour cream and store-bought salsa. That’s it! Because together these 2 store-bought items make an instant party dip, snack, or condiment! Not to mention, you get almost three times the amount of dip for the same cost as a premade store-bought dip when you make it yourself.
Also, this recipe is flexible so feel free to use homemade salsa too like my Pico de Gallo. And green salsa is another good option as well as fruit salsas like my Papaya Salsa. Any type of salsa will do the trick!
How To Make Sour Cream And Salsa Dip
This easy peasy recipe is nearly effortless! Once you have your ingredients it comes together in minutes.
To make the dip, just put the sour cream and salsa into a bowl and then stir them together until a creamy dip forms.
Then the sour cream and salsa dip is ready to serve with tortilla chips, fresh sliced veggies, or be used as a condiment on other dishes.
Variations
This instant chip dip is really easy to customize! You can garnish it with herbs or mix in other ingredients. Here are a few of my favorite ways to dress up this recipe.
- Herbs – Garnish the dip with chopped fresh cilantro or green onions.
- Cheese – Mix in some shredded cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack cheese. You can also just sprinkle some cheese on top.
- Olives – Blend some sliced black olives into the dip.
- Jalapenos – Make the dip spicy with some canned sliced jalapenos.
How To Store
This sour cream and salsa dip can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap. However, it doesn’t freeze well at all!
What To Serve With Sour Cream And Salsa Dip
You can serve this creamy salsa dip with Air Fryer Tortilla Chips, potato chips, Air Fryer Pita Chips, or sliced fresh veggies like bell peppers, cucumbers, celery, and carrots. Pretty much anything you like for dipping!
But this dip also works as a condiment too. It’s terrific on Air Fryer Frozen Mini Tacos and Air Fryer Frozen Breakfast Burritos! I’ve even used it as a salad dressing and to top Baked Chicken Thighs. The options are endless!

There is no need for measurements. Add the 2 ingredients to YOUR liking.
I also don’t usually measure when I make stuff like this, but many people like recipes with measurements so I added them :)
This dip is fantastic! I made it in minutes and it was a hit with both chips and fresh veggies.
This is a GREAT dip! Has anyone tried making it with Greek Yogurt rather than Sour Cream? I substitute Greek Yogurt often for Sour Cream. Thoughts?
I made it with greek yogurt before, it was great!
