Healthy Spring Mix Salad Recipe
We love a fresh, crispy salad, and this one is a classic! It has the basics of a nutritious salad, but you can transform it with your preferred toppings. Change up the seasonings or mix-ins to make a cobb salad or Greek salad. Add sliced, grilled chicken, steak, or even roasted chick peas for added protein. It’s a classic salad recipe that you will turn to over and over again when hosting guests or just making lunch.
The key is fresh ingredients. Luckily, spring mix, cucumbers, and tomatoes are available all year long. In the warmer seasons, use grape or cherry tomatoes. In the colder months, you can slice up regular tomatoes to enjoy this fresh salad no matter the temperature!

How To Make A Spring Mix Salad
First step, of course, is to wash any veggies that don’t come pre-washed. Next add the spring mix to a medium-sized serving bowl.
Slice the ends off of an English cucumber and chop up into pieces. Halve the grape tomatoes. Or if you are using large tomatoes, slice them.
Chop off the ends of the onion, then peel and slice it. Add the cucumber, tomatoes, and onion slices to the mixing bowl.
Next it’s time to make a simple dressing. Add balsamic vinegar and olive oil to a small bowl or measuring cup. Use a fork to whisk the mixture until combined. Drizzle dressing over salad.
At this point, you can add your seasonings. Then toss to coat all the veggies in the dressing and seasonings. Now it’s ready to serve!
Cooking Tips
- You can peel the cucumber if you prefer
- Can use an English cucumber or a couple of regular-sized cucumbers
- This recipe calls for salt and pepper, but you can add any seasonings of your choice
