Replace basket in air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. At about 6 minutes, pause the cooking to open up the air fryer and shake the basket. This mixes up the fries and helps them to brown more evenly.

Have done in AF for ages. And you nailed the timing. They aren’t decent till about 12-13 minutes. I shake more often but waiting and panting. Haha.
