For these Air Fryer Churros, all you need is puff pastry, butter, cinnamon, sugar, and an air fryer! Everyone will love these warm and crispy homemade churros.
Lay out frozen, folded puff pastry sheet on the countertop to thaw out for 30 minutes.
Unfold thawed puff pastry sheet on a cutting board or other preparation surface. Using a knife, cut along the fold lines. Then cut each of the three large strips into 1" wide strips.
Add the puff pastry to the air fryer basket. Heat at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Halfway through cooking time, pull out basket and use tongs to separate and flip the puff pastry pieces so they cook more evenly. Replace the basket and continue cooking.
Once cooking time is up, open the air fryer and check that all the churros are ready. If so, it's time to make the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Add 1/2 cup of white sugar and 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon to a gallon baggie. Close up the baggie and shake to mix up the cinnamon and sugar.
Melt butter in a microwave. Dip each churro in butter on both sides, then add the churro to the bag with cinnamon and sugar. Close the bag up once again and shake to coat all the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Open bag and lay out the finished churros on a serving plate.
Allow the puff pastry to thaw out for 30 minutes before slicing it up
After the churros bake, check to be sure that they are all golden brown and cooked through. If necessary, heat them in the air fryer for another couple of minutes.
Leave the excess cinnamon sugar in the bag when dropping the seasoned churros onto a serving plate
