These naturally sweet Boiled Sweet Potatoes are a tasty and healthy side dish! You'll love the perfect soft texture of sweet potatoes when you boil them.
Place a large pot of water on the stovetop. Add potatoes and turn the heat to high.
Once the water is boiling, turn the heat down to simmer. The water should stay boiling, but not a hard boil.
Cover the pot if you would like, and let the potatoes boil for about 30 minutes. Cooking time can depend on the size of the potatoes. Once time is up, pierce a couple of potatoes to check for tenderness.
If the potatoes are done to your liking, turn off the heat and drain the water.
Slice the potatoes in half, lengthwise, and top with seasonings or serve as is!

Notes
No need to peel the potatoes as the peel is edible
Sweet potatoes can be cooked whole or in pieces. Boiling whole potatoes does take longer to cook. However, it can be difficult to slice uncooked potatoes
While the potatoes are boiling, you can cover the pot to make them cook faster, just be sure to place it on loosely so some steam can escape
You can also check doneness by using an internal cooking thermometer. The potatoes should be at least 210 degrees in the center if they are fully cooked
