This Broiled Flounder is the perfect recipe for those who love an easy fish dinner! Just broil for a few minutes in the oven for flavorful, tender flounder that's cooked just right.
1tspcooking sprayor vegetable oil or melted butter
6flounder fillets
1/4tspsalt
1/4tspgarlic powder
1/8tsppepper
3tbspbutter
6ozlemon6 slices
Instructions
Preheat the oven to broil.
Next prep the baking sheet. Add a layer of aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray. This is an important step for ensuring the fish doesn't stick to the sheet pan.
Lay the fillets out on the aluminum foil.
Sprinkle on seasonings. If you have thicker fillets, you'll want to season both sides (double the seasonings).
Slice butter into 6 thin pieces and lay one atop each fillet.
Do the same with each of the lemon slices.
Place baking sheet on top rack and broil flounder for 8 minutes. Thicker fillets may take about 12 minutes to cook though. Use a meat thermometer if you would like to double-check. The internal temperature should be at least 145 degrees.
If fillets are done, remove the cooking sheet from the oven.
Use a spatula to move the flounder to a serving plate.

Notes
You can use nonstick spray or brush the cooking surface with vegetable oil or melted butter
Butter slices on top of the fillets is a totally optional step, but it does add flavor. The butter melts as the fish cooks.
You can bake the fish with lemon slices or squeeze lemon juice on fillets before cooking
