Place the chopped beef in a bowl and pour the teriyaki sauce over it. Toss to coat the beef, then let it marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes.
While the beef marinates, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and green peppers, and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add salt to taste and set aside.
Once the beef is done marinating, heat the remaining 1 tbsp of oil in the same frying pan. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink, stirring occasionally.
Add the cooked green peppers and onions back into the pan with the beef. Stir to combine, and season with black pepper and red pepper. Taste and add salt if needed.
Serve hot, and enjoy your homemade garlic beef stir fry!
Notes
For extra flavor, let the beef marinate longer in the teriyaki sauce, up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
You can substitute red or yellow peppers for a sweeter variation of this dish
