Ingredients
1
plantain
unpeeled
Instructions
Place a whole plantain (including peel) on a microwave-safe plate.
Heat on high for 5 minutes.
Check to see that the plantain's skin has split and the plantain's insides are soft. If not, close the microwave and heat for another 1-2 minutes.
Once the plantain is cooked, remove the plate from the microwave. Peel the plantain and slice off the end where the stem meets the fruit.
Cut up the plantain and enjoy!

Notes
No need to peel these first- the plantains cook right in their skin
Once cooked, you can slice plantains into coins or lengthwise into strips
Enjoy them as is, or top with sweet ingredients like honey and cinnamon or savory like salt and pepper
