Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes
2/3 cup milk
1/2 stick butter 1/4 cup
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters.
Place the potatoes in a large pot and add enough water to cover them. Add 2 tsp of salt to the water.
Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the potatoes for about 25 minutes, until tender.
Drain the potatoes using a strainer, then return them to the pot.
Add the butter, cut into pieces, to the potatoes and mash using a potato masher until smooth and the butter is fully melted.
Warm the milk in the microwave for about 40 seconds, then pour it into the mashed potatoes.
Continue mashing until the milk is fully incorporated and the potatoes are creamy.
Season with pepper and additional salt if needed. Mash once more to combine.
Serve the mashed potatoes immediately for the best texture and flavor.
