Grilled Cauliflower Seasoning

The best part about this recipe is that you can make it your own! You can use any seasonings you love on cauliflower. We kept it simple with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but you can boost the flavor to match the rest of your meal. Having hot dogs? Sprinkle the cauliflower with ground mustard or onion powder. Serving the cauliflower with Indian food? Try topping it with cumin or turmeric. So many delicious options!

And it’s a great healthy side dish. You can keep things low-carb and serve it with grilled meats or toss the florets into soup or a casserole. The smoky grilled flavor adds so much depth to any dish. You’ll love it.

How To Make Grilled Cauliflower Florets In Foil

First, preheat the grill to high and close the lid. This helps the grill to heat up faster.

Measure out a sheet of aluminum foil and fold up all the edges (see photos). The foil keeps the cauliflower from falling into the grill grates while still allowing it to get delicious grill marks.

Add cauliflower florets to a shallow pan for preparation. Drizzle on olive oil (about a Tablespoon or to taste) and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss with a spoon to coat veggies in oil and seasonings.

Open the grill. Carefully add the sheet of foil. Next add the cauliflower to the foil.

Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.

Open the grill and mix up the cauliflower with a spatula. Depending how hot your grill runs, you may need to reduce the heat to medium low at this point.

Close up the grill and cook for another 5 minutes. Then open the grill and check that the cauliflower is done to your liking. Pierce it with a fork to check tenderness. If you prefer it cooked more, just close the lid and cook for another few minutes.

If the cauliflower is done cooking, use tongs to remove it from the foil and place on a serving plate.

Close the lid of the grill and turn off the heat.

Cooking Tips

  • Using olive oil is optional. It prevents the cauliflower from sticking to the foil
  • You can use any seasonings of your choosing
  • Add empty foil carefully to grill as it can blow around
  • You can cook cauliflower for longer if you prefer softer cauliflower or cook it on low heat if you want to cook it slowly
